What Are Terpenes?

Terpenes are organic compounds produced in all forms of plants

Terpenes give the plant its distinctive smell, taste, colour and wellness-boosting properties. They are the plant’s aromatic essential oils and there are over 200 different terpenes contained in hemp.

Terpenes work with natural compounds found in cannabis such as cannabinoids (CBD) to enhance their own unique health benefits. They synergize the feeling of relaxation, stress relief, energy boost, and maintaining focus along with their underlying medicinal functions.

Terpenes have a wide range of health benefits. Most have antioxidant effects, whilst others have antifungal, antibacterial, or even antispasmodic properties. Ongoing scientific studies confirm its effect on skin problems, autoimmune diseases, the immune system, rheumatic diseases, insomnia and other health problems.

Safe, Effective and Widely Used

Some terpenes are relatively well known for their potential in biomedicine and have been used in traditional medicine for centuries, while others are yet to be studied in detail. Because of the very low toxicity, these terpenes are already widely used as food additives and in cosmetic products. Thus, they have been proven safe and well-tolerated. (T. Nuutinen, Medicinal properties of terpenes found in Cannabis sativa and Humulus lupulus, European Journal of Medicinal Chemistry (2018), doi: 10.1016/j.ejmech.2018.07.076.)

What is Nano / Liposomal CBD?

Before we begin...

If you’re shopping for CBD oil, you may have noticed a growing selection of products that sound like they belong in a science fiction: ‘Nano-Amplified CBD’… ‘Nano-technology’… ‘Liposomal CBD’…’Nano-particle Cannabinoids’…

Is all this nano-business a sign of scientific progress — or just a marketing gimmick?
In this article we will dive into the ins and outs of nano-enhanced CBD oil in detail.

In this article we will dive into the ins and outs of nano-enhanced CBD oil in detail.

...What is it?

Simply put, nanotechnology is anything involving reducing the size of something to nanoscopic dimensions.

It may sound intimidating, but nanotechnology is just a fancy way of saying that we are working with extremely small things. By the normal definition, those extremely small things should be less than 0.0000001 meters — i.e. 100 nanometers.

...So How Does it Work?

Because your mouth and your digestive tract are moist and watery, and because oil & water don’t mix, when you swallow a CBD product it tends to stay in droplets or globules, with most of the CBD molecules hidden and inaccessible until fully digested.

(Further, digestion tends to break down a large percentage of any CBD you swallow — which is why we strongly recommend that you vigorously swish your CBD oil around your tongue and gums for enhanced absorption.)

Since oil and water don’t mix, “nano” CBD companies use one of the oldest tricks in the recipe book…

When whipping up a homemade salad dressing, recipes usually call for honey, mustard or egg yolks. This isn’t just for taste — these ingredients are natural emulsifiers, which means they help stabilize oil-in-water mixtures.

If you look at a pre-mixed salad dressing on the grocery shelf, you’ll see that it lists extra ingredients  — many of which help keep the oil & water mixed indefinitely. If you could zoom in on that salad dressing with a high-powered microscope, you would see countless tiny drops of oil suspended in vinegar (which is mostly water).

What you wouldn’t be able to see (even though it’s there) is a thin layer of emulsifiers & other chemicals coating the surface of every drop of oil. They’re what keep the oil droplets from merging and rising to the top to separate from the water.

Nano CBD products typically contains CBD oil, water and other ingredients that help stabilize this emulsion. For instance, one common nano CBD ingredient – lecithin or “phospholipids” – is the same fat in egg yolks that works great to keep salad dressings from separating.

Why should we use it?

The different CBD retailers that sell CBD nano claim that the reason it works is because the smaller particle size of the CBD molecules makes it easier for them to be carried by the blood supply. This ensures that all the CBD will reach the liver.

Well, according to a few studies, such as this one by Duran-Lobato et al. for the Journal of Drug Development and Industrial Pharmacy, the main reason that nanoparticles work regarding CBD is because of their lipophilic qualities.

Basically, molecules can be one of two things: Hydrophilic or lipophilic. This means that some particles can naturally attach themselves to water-based molecules, whereas other ones are able to connect themselves to lipid-based molecules.

However, there are some molecules that are able to do both – they act somewhat like a double-ended magnet, with a hydrophilic end and a lipophilic end. This allows them to serve as a bridge for molecules that wouldn’t usually be able to connect under normal circumstances.

This is important when talking about CBD, because cannabinoids in general are lipophilic, as well as being hydrophobic. This means that generally speaking, a CBD molecule will try and repel water molecules that seek to bind to it. This is understandably a problem when trying to consume CBD, as our bodies run using a hydrophilic system.

This is the fundamental reason why cannabinoid bioavailability it so low – they do not naturally bind with water molecules, so a lot of it gets wasted and is unable to be correctly processed. This can be noticed when you study the bioavailability of CBD when suspended in coconut oil.

When coconut oil is used, it tends to get caught in the gastrointestinal system, causing it to be more slowly digested than other foodstuffs. This also gives the body more time to retrieve the CBD from it. This is known as Intestinal Lymphatic Drug Delivery and was noticed by Hyeji Ahn and Ji-Ho Park in their study for the Journal of Biomaterials Research that it dramatically increased the rate of the CBD being accepted and utilized by the body.

However, once you start to break the size of the cannabinoid particles down, everything begins to change.

With an increased surface area, your body has an easier time digesting and absorbing nutrients from oil when it’s broken down into tiny drops. The smaller those drops get, the more surface contact the oil has with your body’s enzymes and absorptive tissue. Within your digestive tract, your body’s natural bile salts will emulsify CBD oil and other dietary fats. However, putting pre-emulsified oil in your mouth could help your body start absorbing CBD molecules sooner.s

Are there any risks / negative effects?

Although nano-emulsified CBD can deliver higher levels of CBD quickly into your bloodstream, there are a few things you should consider before buying a nano CBD product:

Added chemicals: Some Nano CBD products are manufactured with chemicals you might not want in your body. For instance, propylene glycol is a common additive in shelf-stable emulsions that was recently named “Allergen of the Year” by the American Contact Dermatitis Society. However,  different companies will choose different ingredients such as sunflower lecithin, which is harmless.

Dishonesty: Unfortunately, the CBD industry is rife with fraudulent products and misinformation. You’ll need to do some detective work to find a trustworthy company. Beware: Many nano CBD companies love to use scientific-sounding language as a smokescreen to keep you from noticing red flags. If you don’t understand what they’re saying, they’reprobably confusing you on purpose.

Anxiety: Suffering is Optional

Anxietea

Anxiety is your body’s natural response to stress. It’s a feeling of fear or apprehension about what’s to come. The first day of school, going to a job interview, or giving a speech may cause you to feel fearful and nervous.

Sometimes your feelings of anxiety can be severe and are interfere with your quality of life and your personal and professional relationships.

At times anxiety may cause you to stop doing things you enjoy. In extreme cases, it may prevent you from attending social events, joining people for dinner, or even leaving your home. If left untreated, the anxiety will keep getting worse.

Anxiety disorders are the most common form of emotional disorder and can affect anyone at any age. With the right treatment, many people can manage those feelings and get back to a fulfilling life.

How CBD Oil Helps With Anxiety

Cannabidiol (CBD) is one of the main active chemicals found in hemp and marijuana plants. These active chemicals are known as cannabinoids and occur naturally in the human body as well as the cannabis plant.

Within the human body lies a large neurotransmitter system that is known as the endocannabinoid system (ECS).

Cannabidiol interacts with this system, the endocannabinoid receptors, to generate communication among cells in the body when there is a deficiency in the body’s naturally occurring cannabinoids. This communication results in the body’s ability to reach homeostasis and optimal health.

CBD reacts on a receptor in the brain known as CB1 receptor. This reaction results in signaling the production of serotonin in the brain by signaling to serotonin receptors. Producing serotonin is how many popular anxiety and depression medications work, known as selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors (SSRIs).

CBD does not create an intoxicating effect and can be used to treat anxiety, along with other physical and mental ailments.

Getafix CBD Oils and Edibles

CBD oil and CBD gums are the most popular methods of consuming CBD. These methods also help to keep doses consistent which helps when taking CBD oil for anxiety.

When choosing CBD oil for anxiety treatment you should take care to order a reliable high-quality products from a reputable manufacturer. A 2017 study from the American Medical Association found that nearly 70 percent of CBD oil sold online are mislabelled and contain large amounts of THC.

THC can lead to an increase in paranoia and  heart rate and subsequently anxiety. One way to avoid this is to purchase CBD that has been produced by industrial hemp, which is hemp from a cannabis plant that is grown with the sole purpose of being used in hemp oil products.

Getafix 1000mg CBD Oil is laboratory tested to ensure that it has the appropriate amount of CBD and zero THC. Only premium organic hemp is processed using the latest, cleanest and safest extraction technology.

Bloody Mary Jane

For a traditional Blood Mary, you’re always going to have Worcestershire, lemon juice, salt, pepper, celery, tomato juice, horseradish—probably a few dashes of tabasco.

But if you’re feeling adventurous, it’s a drink that can benefit from a little experimentation with spice. Things like horseradish, sriracha wasabi, or curry powder and different types of hot sauce can all create different flavor profiles as well as added spiciness.

The effect of the infusing CBD with cocktails varies for different people, but generally, it is one of euphoria without the irking sense of anxiety caused by regular cannabis. CBD (Cannabidiol) is usually known to have a calming effect, relaxing the senses from other physical discomforts.

CBD is also known to reduce inflammation and nausea, so coupled with the tomato juice’s potent anti-oxidants,this cocktail is an ideal hangover remedy.

The CBD dosage varies from one person to another, which can also depend on your preference. A high dosage of CBD oil, when mixed with alcohol, tends to make you sleepy and intoxicated. However, you won’t feel the effects of CBD if your drink has more alcohol in it. So, for a starter, it would be better to balance the mixture with a lower dose of CBD oil, and you can increase the dosage over time.

The more the alcohol content in your cocktail, the lesser your chances are of noticing the effects of CBD. But, if you go overboard with the CBD content, you might end up getting too sleepy for the better part of the time.

Getafix CBD Oil contains no artificial flavours and has a very neutral taste so it will not affect the overall taste of your cocktails.

We only use the cleanest purest ingredients and extraction methods for our CBD extracts and our products are laboratory tested to ensure it’s effectiveness.

Getafix Pumpkin Pie

Get baked with this easy-as-pie recipe. It’s easy to prepare and even easier to enjoy. Just mix, pour, and bake for a delicious CBD pumpiyumpkin treat.

Spicy and Sweet Matter

What makes a pumpkin dessert extra special isn’t the orange gourd color, although that sure doesn’t hurt: It’s the perfect balance of spicy and sweet.

The usual blend of pumpkin pie spices is made from ginger, cloves, allspice, cinnamon and nutmeg. This spoonful of bold and flavorful spices has great depth of flavor. You’re used to them being cooled by sugar in most dishes; however, taste a sample straight and you’ll see that pumpkin spice has heat!

The best way to preserve the spiciness of pumpkin spice is with freshly cracked black pepper. It adds a robust bite to the traditional spice mix, which comes across subtly in each mouthful of pumpkin pie. This black pepper trick works like a charm with almost any pumpkin recipe.

Please note: Getafix CBD Oil contains zero THC. This recipe will not make you or your guests high or intoxicated, but it will put them in a better, more relaxed mood.

Ingredients

CBD-Infused Pie Filling

  • About 425g (15 oz) canned pumpkin pie puree
  • three large eggs plus
  • 1 extra egg yolk
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • ½ cup brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • ½ teaspoon ground ginger
  • ¼ teaspoon ground cloves
  • ⅛ teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper
  • Between five-eight 1ml drops  of Getafix 1000mg CBD oil      (1ml = 33mg of CBD)

Whipped Cream

  • 1 cup heavy whipping cream
  • two tablespoons granulated sugar

Servings: 8-10

Baking Guidelines

  1. Preheat your oven to  180’C (350’F)

  2. Place pie crust into a 9-inch (22cm) pie pan, removing any excess dough as required. Pinch and crimp the edges together to make a nice pattern.

  3. Combine the black pepper, brown sugar, cinnamon, ginger, cloves, and nutmeg in a little bowl.

  4. In a separate, bigger bowl, combine your heavy cream and doses of CBD before whisking in the eggs. Mix in the pumpkin puree and then the dry components till nicely incorporated.

  5. Pour the pie filling into your crust. Line the outside of the crust with foil or parchment paper to keep away from burning (or use a nifty pie crust shield, if you have one particular).

  6. Bake for 50 minutes – 1 hour till the filling has set but still has a tiny jiggle in the center.

Whip it up, and Serve

Combine all the components for the whipped cream — i.e. the heavy whipping cream and sugar — in a big bowl with tall sides.

Then slice your pie, serve it with whipped cream, and take pleasure in a new,  much more chillaxed version of the Thanksgiving tradition.

Side Effects of Cannabidiol (CBD)

In 2018, the World Health Organization recommend that Cannabidiol (CBD) be removed from drug schedules worldwide. The  2018 Farm Bill in the U.S. followed, making hemp-derived CBD products legal across the USA.

Hemp CBD has become one the of fasted growing health trends, and this makes it even more important to know what potential side effects you could experience after consumption. Even though hemp is widely regarded  as very safe, and has very few known side effects, minor side effects have been reported by some CBD users.

There are dozens of scientific studies and experiments that conclude that CBD is safe and virtually free of major side effects. Although many studies suggest that CBD is safe for consumption, consumers should be made aware of any known potential problems when taking health supplements.

A study on the safety and side effects of cannabidiol by the NCBI suggests that controlled cannabidiol administration is safe and non-toxic in humans and animals. Results show that it does not affect physiological parameters like heart rate, body temperature or blood pressure. Also, according to this review paper, “high doses up to 1,500 mg/day of CBD are reportedly well tolerated in humans.”

Can you overdose on CBD?

With no known fatal overdose levels ever reported, CBD is widely accepted as non-toxic.The previously mentioned study from NCBI indicated that chronic use and high doses up to 1,500 mg/day of CBD are reportedly well tolerated in humans. The USA Department of Health and Human Services states, ‘no signs of toxicity or serious side effects have been observed following chronic administration of cannabidiol to healthy volunteers (Cunha et al., Pharmacology 21:127-185, 1980), even in large acute doses of 700 mg/day (Consroe et al., Pharmacol, Biochem, Behav. 40:701-708, 1991).’

Lets take a Closer Look at Some of the Reported Side Effects of CBD

  1. CBD interferes with prescription medications that are metabolized in the liver.

The NCBI study does mention some potential side effects for cannabidiol, such as the inhibition of hepatic (liver) drug metabolism and decreased activity of p-glycoprotein. CBD can potentially interact with a variety pharmaceuticals because it interferes with the functionality of some liver enzymes which metabolize most pharmaceutical drugs.

This is not limited to just CBD. Even eating some grapefruit would have a similar effect on these liver enzymes. If you are taking pharmaceutical drugs and wish to take CBD, you should discuss any potential complications with your doctor and/or pharmacist.

  1. Dry mouth

Another reported side effect of CBD  is an unpleasant dry sensation in the mouth. A study published by Argentinian researchers back in 2006 showed that cannabinoid receptors (type 1 and 2) are present in glands in the mouth which are responsible for producing saliva.

The interaction of CBD with these receptors inhibits the saliva excretion, leading to mouth dryness (also referred to as “cotton-mouth”, or ‘droogbek’). This side effect can be avoided by drinking plenty of water or using a rehydrating mouth rinse.

  1. People suffering from tremors have increased symptoms with high servings of CBD

Although there are studies that suggest that cannabidiol is safe and well-tolerated by patients affected by certain severe conditions, early research also claims that CBD taken in large amounts may worsen tremor and involuntary muscle movement in some individuals.

People whose conditions include tremors should consult their doctor before taking CBD.

  1. Low blood pressure and light-headedness

Higher dosages of CBD oil can cause a slight decrease in blood pressure, usually within a few minutes of the CBD entering your system. This drop in blood pressure is often associated with a feeling of lightheadedness. If you take CBD regularly, you might find yourself with a lower-than-normal blood pressure due to CBD’s ability to help relax the walls of your arteries and veins, letting the blood flow through more easily. This isn’t particularly dangerous or deadly, but if you already suffer from low blood pressure, this can worsen your condition and be potentially harmful.

If you are taking medication for blood pressure, you should consult your doctor before taking CBD.

  1. Drowsiness

In higher servings, CBD can cause drowsiness. CBD, as well as THC, is taken as a sleep aid to help treat patients suffering from insomnia or anxiety that stops you from sleeping. The reason CBD has this effect is because of the interaction between CBD and the brain’s release of certain hormones. When the CB1 receptor is triggered, it causes a release of melatonin, the chemical responsible for that feeling of drowsiness that lets you fall asleep.

At lower dosages, you can still feel alert and focused. One study published by Rodriguez et al. found that, depending on when you actually imbibed the CBD, the effects on your sleepiness changed. During the experiment, if CBD was taken during a period of regular wakefulness, such as during the day when you’re not physically or mentally tired, CBD was shown to actually increase awareness and the feeling of wakefulness. However, if taken during the evening when your body is generally expecting you to be tired, it has in the inverse effect; it makes you sleepier and more prepared to go to sleep. This fascinating result means that the side effect of CBD changes depending on your usage of it; if you take CBD during the day, it might make you a bit more alert and aware, whereas taking it at night will encourage you to go to sleep easier.

While it may seem odd that people would want to add a relaxing additive to a stimulating brew of coffee, many coffee-lovers around the world are agreeing that CBD coffee is a great combination. In this article we will look into the many reaons for and against infusing coffee with CBD

Reasons Against

No matter how you take your coffee—black, sweet, over ice, or pumpkin spiced, you’re drinking it to absorb the caffeine. You need a pick-me-up. You’re tired and you want to feel energized.

Then there’s CBD, which is well-known for its effectiveness in fighting insomnia and for its calming effects.

When compared with the effects of caffeine, CBD and caffeine are on different sides of the spectrum. It seems that CBD coffee is a liquid contradiction.

For this reason many coffee drinkers switch to decaffeinated coffee to infuse with their coffee, and drink it primarily to relax. In that case, wouldn’t it be better to use caffeine-free tea instead? Some would argue a nice steaming cup of rooibos tea with a drop of CBD would be perfect.

Reasons For

Because there has not been  that much formal research into the combined interactions of CBD and caffeine, the potential benefits of combining the two are largely based on anecdotal evidence, the experiences, and testimony of those who enjoy the potential effects of CBD-infused coffee.

Health and Wellness Benefits

Although CBD is the non-psychoactive extract of the hemp plant, it does have a positive effect on your mood because it mimics the messengers and influence the receptors of the complex communication network that regulates nearly every necessary function in your body, your endocannabinoid system.

It’s because of this ability to interact with your endocannabinoid system, and several significant non-endocannabinoid receptors, that CBD is shown to have so many seemingly non-related potential health and wellness benefits. Similarly, coffee has its own impressive list of health and wellness benefits.

Both coffee and CBD are superfoods. Several compounds in coffee, including caffeine, are powerful antioxidants. Coffee is considered the biggest source of antioxidants in the Western Diet. Antioxidants protect cells and DNA from damage, which supports healing and offers protection against aging. In fact, the U.S. Government owns a patent (US6630507 B1) on “Cannabinoids as Antioxidants and Neuroprotectants.” Cannabinoids like CBD are expected to be particularly helpful for recovery from major brain events like trauma or stroke.

Some People are Quite Sensitive to the Effects of Caffeine

Many CBD enthusiasts find that combining their coffee with the potential mood-regulating properties of CBD balances the negative effects of caffeine.

Because coffee contains a considerable amount of caffeine, many of us feel more alert and focused after indulging in our favorite brew, but not everyone experiences a positive reaction to the stimulating effects of caffeine. Some significant side effects include increased symptoms of anxiety, feeling ‘jittery’, heart palpitations and difficulty sleeping.

Caffeine is a stressor that can trigger the release of the hormone adrenaline in the body.  Adrenaline is what triggers the fight or flight response, promoting stress and anxiety.

CBD, however, may counteract some of these effects. CBD-infused coffee is stimulating without the edge. CBD and caffeine both interact with adenosine in the body. Adenosine is a calming neurotransmitter that helps the body determine when it’s time to stay awake and when you need more sleep. However, CBD and caffeine have opposite effects on this sleep-cycle chemical. Caffeine blocks the body from being able to feel the sedative effects of adenosine. With CBD, however, early research suggests that CBD may improve the body’s response to adenosine. It seemingly does this by increasing the amount of calming adenosine available for the body to use.

CBD oil doesn’t mix well with water. For this reason, you need some kind of fat with which the oil can mix with, so it is best to mix into milk/cream before adding it to your coffee.

Cbd should be added after your coffee is brewed to provide maximum potential effects.

What is Super Critical CO2 Extraction?

Getafix sources the finest grade hemp for our products. It would be a shameful waste to spoil the quality of our hemp extract with cheap, harmful and dangerous extraction methods. We take pride in using only the safest, cleanest and healthiest extraction of our CBD using supercritical CO2 extraction. The following information will explain exactly what this method is, how it works, and why it’s so important and beneficial.

CO2 extraction is not just more environmentally friendly, safer, cleaner, and less toxic than using fossil fuel based extraction; it results in a consistent product that is more palatable and safe for consumption.

Supercritical CO2 extraction has actually been around for decades. In fact it was first used in the 1980’s for the extraction of essential oil for perfumes to the decaffeination of coffee and tea. CO2 extraction has been used in a number of different industries such as fruit and nut extracts/aromas, Omega-3 oils, fragrances, hop-oil extraction for beer and even oil extractions from algae to be used as an alternative energy source.

CO2 Extraction Machinery

CO2 Extractor

What is CO2 Extraction?

Carbon dioxide (CO2) is usually present as a gas at standard temperature and pressure. CO2 is considered to be a “tunable solvent” which means that it is considerably versatile and is effective in creating a large variety of end products by ‘tuning’ or controlling temperature and pressure. Supercritical carbon dioxide refers to CO2’s fluid state, which takes place above its critical temperature and pressure.

CO2 extraction is a process that uses pressurized carbon dioxide to extract or ‘pull’ the desired phytochemicals from a plant. When used with hemp, the process pulls all of the essential cannabinoids, terpene oils and waxes out of the plant material.

At certain temperatures and pressures, CO2 acts like a solvent. However, CO2does not have the same dangers associated with most solvents which is why the best manufacturers are using CO2 as a way to create a pure, clean, quality oil which involves minimal post-processing. This greatly differs CO2 from so many other toxic solvent products offered by other CBD brands.

How does it work?

Hemp is ground up and added to the extraction vessel, where CO2 is pressurized and ‘passed over’ the plant material. The pressurized CO2 can either be processed subcritically (low pressure, low temperature) or supercritically (high pressure, high temperature), depending on the desired outcome. Subcritical extracts will require less post-processing, (filtering) while supercritical extracts will need filtering work to remove undesired plant compounds like fats and waxes.

A supercritical fluid has properties between a gas and a liquid. For instance, a supercritical fluid can fill a space like a gas; however, still maintain its liquid-like density. The supercritical fluid can pass through the raw cannabis while gently dissolving and capturing their many active compounds.

Supercritical liquids are ideal non-chemical solvents because they can pass through porous solids and also dissolve materials, and the “tunability” of supercritical CO2 extraction allows the maximum extraction of cannabidiol while keeping undesirable compounds such as chlorophyll out of the final product.

So after the pressurized carbon dioxide pulls the desired phytochemicals from the plant, the plant matter is filtered through a series of chambers. When the pressure releases, the CO2 converts back to a gas and is released from the extracted oil.

Sub-Critical vs. Supercritical

Subcritical CO2 extraction is the same sort of process; however, supercritical occurs at higher temperatures and pressures. In subcritical, the carbon dioxide remains in a liquid state.

Supercritical extraction produces a substance with the consistency of peanut butter made up of fats, oils and waxes. A process called winterization may then be used to remove the fats and waxes, leaving pure CBD oil.

The subcritical product also preserves cannabinoids other than CBD; which may or may not be desirable. While the Supercritical CO2 process may destroy various cannabinoids through thermal degradation, it yields more cannabidiol – and in a far shorter time. Supercritical oil extraction also kills bacteria, mold and other forms of contaminants that are harmful for our bodies.

Because the solubility in CO2 varies with pressure, supercritical CO2 can be used to extract selected compounds (rather than a combination of all compounds) with just a few small adjustments.

What are the benefits?

Our bodies naturally produce carbon dioxide (CO2) when we breathe so it’s considered a “natural” product.

CO2 extraction processes do not release the CO2 into the atmosphere and therefore do not contribute toward carbon emission increases in our atmosphere.

CO2 extraction doesn’t use flammable petroleum-based solvents (like butane). This removes the danger of explosions from the CO2 extraction process as well as potentially harmful petroleum-based butane particles from the final, very fine, concentrated CBD product.

Another benefit of CO2 extraction that it kills any microbial bacteria, mold, mildew or insect mites This guarantees that your concentrates will be cleaner and significantly healthier for you.

Due to the lack of chemicals and preservation of terpene aromas, CO2 extracted oil is also much better tasting, making them ideal for cannabis concentrates.

Because C02 is a “tunable solvent”, we can extract and isolate specific cannabinoids, terpenes, and other botanical components of the plant. CO2 extraction preserves the plant terpenes, flavonoids, and cannabinoids without the use of chemicals. Once the extracted plant compounds are heated, or pressure is reduced, the carbon dioxide is released from the extracted oils.

Since carbon dioxide can also be used as a sanitizing agent, CO2 extraction improves the shelf life of cannabis oil.

In Summary…

Getafix uses the supercritical CO2 extraction method and this process maintains the purity of the plant terpenes and cannabinoids. Many companies choose not to use this process since the required equipment carries a high price tag and the process is expensive and time consuming.

Supercritical CO2 produces CBD that is cleaner, has significantly less toxicity, and is more aromatic than butane hash oil products.

Furthermore, when purchasing a CBD product for yourself or for your beloved pet, it is even more essential to be confident that you are getting a product that is clean, pure, safe and effective.
